Finding the Help You Need with Next Level Kidmin
When I first started out in kidmin, I felt like I was alone. I’d served two internships in children’s ministry. And I still had a good relationship with the kid’s pastor who guided me on my last one. However, I didn’t know what I didn’t know.
Fast-forward a year in and I was drowning. I thought I had it all under control, but elementary was the David Reneau show. Wednesday night was holding together with a hope and a prayer, and don't’ even get me started on Nursery.
I needed help, but I didn’t know where to look. The other staff meant well but had little sympathy. My senior pastor loved me, but to say he was a hands-off leader is an understatement.
Social media was in its infancy. I was still curating my Top 5 on Myspace. (ifykyk) So going there for help wasn’t an option. There weren’t a lot of kidmin books and Amazon didn’t exist yet. So I had to rely on my local Christian Book Store. Also, wholly unhelpful.
Thankfully, I found some podcasts and websites, and I started to learn. (I write more about it here.)
If you’re in the same boat, and you stumbled upon my blog, I want to help. So, I wrote a book. It’s called Next Level Kidmin: A Children’s Pastor’s Guide to a Thriving Ministry. It releases September 16 and is available to order today.
I took everything I've learned over the last 17 years of ministry poured it into every page. All in the hopes of helping you. So, you don’t have to make the same mistakes I did or feel all alone in this thing we call ministry.
Throughout Next Level Kidmin, you’ll discover how to:
Lead and Inspire Volunteers: Effectively recruit, train, and retain a passionate team that fuels your ministry's growth.
Create Impactful Discipleship Experiences: Develop dynamic programs and pathways that lead kids to an authentic, lifelong relationship with Christ.
Partner with Parents: Forge genuine relationships that transform parents into powerful allies in the spiritual formation of their children.
Strategically Grow Your Ministry: Implement proven strategies to expand your reach, improve event production, and make a greater impact in your community for Jesus.
Develop Your Leadership: Cultivate the personal and strategic leadership skills necessary to navigate challenges and build a sustainable, vibrant ministry.
My hope is to meet you where you are, and give you hope. By the end, you’ll be able to create a clear plan for the future and build the thriving children's ministry you've always wanted.
If you’re not sure yet, you can download a free chapter here.
As an added bonus, once you buy the book, you’ll get $75 worth of resources for free! Resources like: (links)
You’re not alone in ministry. There are hundreds and thousands of leaders who are serving week in and week out just like you. They have volunteer problems, discipline issues, and wonder if their curriculum is the best for them. Next Level Kidmin is another resource that helps answer all those questions and more. Written by a children’s pastor for a children’s pastor.
Whether you pick up the book today, or just subscribe to my blog, I hope you can build that thriving ministry that you’ve always dreamed of. Not for the pride of having one, but because you’re reaching more and more kids for Jesus. You’re guiding kids to develop an authentic faith in Jesus that will last a lifetime. That’s what kidmin is all about. And as I said at the end of the introduction of my book.
I get to do this.
And I’m so thankful that God has called us to do it.
